Bordering its famous neighbour, Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran is a richly, multi-faceted “terroir” and one of these characteristics is expressed in “Les Cras”. Made of 100% Chardonnay grapes, this wine comes from a south-east facing plateau with vines growing on white, chalky limestone soil, which is very stony.
The typical nature of this wine goes very well with local dishes such as parsley-seasoned ham, grilled salmon steak or turkey escalope with mushrooms. With ageing potential of 3 to 5 years, this vintage is ideally served at between 11 and 13°C.
« Like a wave, a powerful wine in its substance and light in its freshness. »
