Circling the village of Milly-Lamartine, the vines this wine comes from grow on clay-marl-limestone soil that is rich in fossils (claws, belemnites). Heralding the Monts du Beaujolais a little further to the south, it is made of 100% Gamay grapes.

Fresh fruit: strawberries/blackcurrants/cherries
Floral: violets
Tannin: enveloped
Fleshy: blood orange

Food and wine pairing

The signature style of this wine goes very well with luxury cold meats, barbecued pork, poached eggs or a raspberry tart. With ageing potential of 3 to 5 years, this vintage is ideally served at between 14 and 15°C.
